Gov. Jared Polis on April 8 appointed Jason Kelly to fill a vacancy on the Conejos County Court in the 12th Judicial District.

Gov. Jared Polis on April 7 appointed Lane Thomasson to fill a vacancy on the Ouray County Court in the 7th Judicial District.

Sen. Gloria Travis Tanner, who was inducted into the Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame in 2002, died on April 4 at age 86 at her Denver home.

Polis announced on Feb. 9 that Deni Eiring was appointed to the Cheyenne County Court in the 15th Judicial District.

The governor has now pardoned more than 4,000 people convicted of now legal marijuana possession since October 2020.

Attorneys for the family of Elijah McClain announced on Monday they have reached a settlement in principle with the City of Aurora in a civil rights lawsuit, but the city said the parents must complete a separate allocation process before it can sign a settlement agreement.

Kara Veitch, formerly the executive director of the Colorado Department of Personnel & Administration, was named the Chief Legal Counsel to the Governor on Sept. 29, replacing long-time CLC Jacki Cooper Melmed.
