Law Week hasn’t included a cybersecurity issue in its editorial calendar for long. Like everyone else, we were caught off guard by the rise of cybersecurity as a topic, and it was only after several large corporations suffered massive breaches that we saw cybersecurity isn’t just for the IT professionals and that niche practice was becoming very important. Now in 2018, it seems a little strange that the topic du jour for businesses around the world is EU’s General Data Protection Regulation, but many aren’t prepared, and the regulation has a global reach. Cybersecurity is now much bigger than protecting against phishing scams.
