Scott Perlov Joins Polsinelli as Shareholder

On Aug. 22, Polsinelli announced that Scott Perlov joined the firm’s Denver office as a shareholder in its venture capital and emerging growth companies practice.

Perlov has more than 20 years of experience advising investors, startups and emerging companies in all stages of the business lifecycle. His clients span a wide range of industries, including technology, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, media, consumer products, life sciences and healthcare. Perlov is the fourth new venture capital shareholder the firm has added in the past 12 months.

“Scott is an excellent addition to our nationwide team focused on guiding clients through the entire growth lifecycle, from early stages through exits and IPOs,” said Rick Jordan, co-chair of Polsinelli’s venture capital and emerging companies practice, in a press release. “He is highly experienced in this space and has advised clients in hundreds of financings. Our nationwide strategy reflects a commitment to the Mountain West region, particularly Colorado and Utah, and we look forward to continued growth with Scott’s well-established practice.”

Joining Polsinelli from another Am Law 100 firm, Perlov’s practice encompasses matters focusing on early-stage angel and venture capital financings, corporate infrastructure, securities, tax and equity incentive issues. He represents technology companies as well as angel and strategic investors and venture capital firms.

His financing work includes transactions across the spectrum of stages, from pre-seed financings through successive seed, scaling and later-stage preferred stock financings.

“I am beyond excited to join Polsinelli’s robust emerging companies practice,” said Perlov in a press release. “This is a fantastic opportunity for me to continue to build a practice focusing on the needs of startups and venture backed companies. The firm’s deep resources and broad national platform will allow me to grow my practice in a way that aligns with the firm’s outside general counsel servicing model for emerging companies, not to mention that our clients will receive world-class service in nearly every subject matter. The entrepreneurial spirit of Polsinelli, along with the firm’s strategic focus in this space, are two key elements that resonated with me.”

Perlov received his J.D. from American University Washington College of Law and holds an LL.M. from New York University School of Law. He received his bachelor’s degree from Colgate University and obtained an MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management.
