Ballard Spahr announced that Robert Lieber, Jr., has joined its litigation department and consumer financial services group as of counsel in the firm’s Denver office.
Lieber is the fourth consumer financial services attorney to join the Denver office in 2024, following partners Mike Kilgarriff and Joseph Schuster and associate Daniel Wilkinson. He is the second consumer financial services attorney to join the firm in the past month, with Angela Scott joining the firm’s Los Angeles office in November.
“Clients need our services more than ever before and, in response, we’re growing our team by adding top-notch attorneys like Rob,” Daniel JT McKenna, co-lead of the consumer financial services group, said in a press release. “Consumer Financial Services litigation at Ballard has increased by 35 percent over last year, thanks to excellent client service, strong business planning, and demonstrated capability. Adding Rob to our bench will help us continue going beyond for clients.”
Lieber represents clients in mortgage-related litigation and handles matters regarding the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Truth in Lending Act, and state-related claims in state and federal courts.
Lieber joined Ballard Spahr from Blank Rome.
“It’s an exciting time to join Ballard Spahr,” Lieber said in a press release. “The Consumer Financial Services team is busy, and the work these attorneys handle for clients is critical to their long-term success. It’s a good fit for me and my clients, and I am looking forward to getting started.”
