Brandyberry is a litigator who assists clients with commercial and intellectual property disputes involving complex technology. His cases typically involve contractual, patent, trademark, copyright and trade secrets claims. He has represented clients in 22 different U.S. district courts, International Trade Commission investigations, federal circuit appeals and multidistrict litigation. Brandyberry also assists clients with IP procurement and licensing activities and is a licensed patent attorney. 


James Judd – BakerHostetler

Judd focuses his practice on estate planning and tax planning for high net worth individuals and business entities. Judd manages various state and federal tax controversies and advises corporations, LLCs, partnerships and nonprofit organizations on how to operate in the most tax-efficient manner. 

Julian Ellis – Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck
Practice: government relations and political & regulatory law

Practicing in the firm’s litigation department, Ellis focuses on appellate and political matters, constitutional litigation and strategic counseling. He has served as lead counsel in high stakes cases at both the trial and appellate levels, and regularly represents clients litigating issues of first impression in federal and state courts. As part of his appellate work, Ellis also has a robust amicus practice representing clients in cases of national importance, including filing six amicus briefs in cases before the U.S. Supreme Court during the last two terms.

Nick Larson – Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck

Practicing in the firm’s real estate department, Larson focuses on ground-up development and centers his transactional real estate practice on the interplay between private development and public construction/works contracts. He represents developers, equity investors and institutional lenders in real estate acquisitions, dispositions, financings and joint ventures. His work also includes urban infill, planned community and condominium development, golf courses and ski resorts, manufactured housing portfolio sales and negotiation of construction and design contracts, including AIA and DBIA contracts.

David Meschke – Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck
Practice: antitrust and competition, commercial litigation and securities litigation

Meschke practices in the firm’s litigation department. His work encompasses high-stakes litigation, including securities law, class actions, complex antitrust cases and breach of contract matters. Meschke’s practice includes all stages of litigation in both federal and state courts. He also has significant experience with appellate briefing covering a wide variety of areas and has argued before the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Steven Visioli – Broxterman Alicks McFarlane

Visioli joined BAM in 2016 and focuses his practice on family law. He has worked on and led a broad variety of family law cases, including those involving high asset divorces, prenuptial and marital agreements, piercing (and reverse-piercing) the corporate veil, high conflict custody cases, parenting time enforcement, dependency and neglect, international and multi-state kidnapping.

Dean Batchelder – Burg Simpson

Batchelder focuses his practice on commercial litigation and is admitted to practice before the Colorado and Wyoming Supreme Courts, as well as several federal courts. Prior to joining Burg Simpson, Batchelder worked with a number of well-respected Denver law firms. Batchelder served as law clerk for Judge A. Mead of the Maine Supreme Judicial Court.

Nelson Boyle – Burg Simpson

Boyle’s civil litigation practice focuses on appeals, business, insurance bad faith and personal injury litigation. He joined Burg Simpson in 2013 after several years running his own firm. Boyle has practiced in Colorado trial courts, the Colorado Court of Appeals, the Colorado Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court for Colorado, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Jessica Breuer – Burg Simpson

Breuer is a shareholder in Burg Simpson’s personal injury litigation department. Breuer focuses her practice in the areas of personal injury, employment law, wage and hour and appeals. She is currently admitted to practice in Colorado, the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado and the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Marc Johnson – Burg Simpson

Johnson focuses his practice exclusively on medical malpractice litigation. He has handled a wide range of cases including birth injuries, anesthesia injuries, cancer misdiagnosis, stroke misdiagnosis, heart attack misdiagnosis and prenatal misdiagnosis. Prior to joining Burg Simpson, Johnson spent six years at a highly respected New Jersey law firm focusing exclusively on medical negligence claims. 

Penny Manship – Burg Simpson

Manship’s career is devoted to representing plaintiffs in construction defect and class action cases. She has successfully represented thousands of homeowners and many homeowners associations in construction defect claims. Manship has resolved several class action cases involving product defects and consumer fraud claims.

Katy Raffensperger – Crowell & Moring

Shaoul focuses his practice on securities offerings and compliance, corporate governance and mergers and acquisitions. With more than 10 years of investment banking and finance experience, including at Allen & Company and Goldman Sachs in New York, he advises clients from both legal and capital markets perspectives. Shaoul is admitted to practice law in Colorado.

Emily Wasserman – Davis Graham & Stubbs

Wasserman focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation, intellectual property disputes, and counseling clients regarding their intellectual property rights. She was named among Best Lawyers’ Ones to Watch in the area of commercial litigation for 2021 and 2022 and intellectual property law for 2022 and is a member of the 2021 General Counsel Mentor Program. Wasserman currently serves on the Advisory Board for Silicon Flatirons, a center for students, entrepreneurs, policymakers and professionals whose mission is to elevate the debate surrounding technology policy issues. Prior to joining DGS, Wasserman served as a law clerk to Judge Brian Boatright, the current chief justice of the Colorado Supreme Court. 

John McHugh – Fennemore

McHugh joined Fennemore in 2021 with the addition of the Reilly LLP litigation team to the firm’s roster. He assumes the role of partner from Bruce Dahl who has led the Fennemore Denver office since its inception and will now work on the firm’s professional affairs committee in addition to his IP practice. McHugh has a wide civil practice that includes experience in cases in the financial services, insurance and energy industries and LGBT rights.

A partner in the firm’s Aspen office, Winokur was appointed administrative partner, succeeding Mark Hamilton, who has served in this role since 2013. Foster’s practice focuses on real estate finance, representing borrowers and lenders in connection with multifamily, office, industrial, retail and hospitality assets. Her expertise includes construction financing, note purchases, syndicated facilities, mezzanine financing and real estate aspects of corporate acquisitions. She has broad experience with real estate acquisitions and dispositions of both raw and developed property. Foster is a member of the firm’s bankruptcy and troubled loans, real estate and real estate finance practice groups.

CiCi Cheng – Wheeler Trigg O’Donnell LLP

Cheng represents companies in breach of contract, trade secret, antitrust and commercial class action matters. Recently, she helped win a $14.3 million arbitration award, plus attorney’s fees, in a contentious franchise dispute between two publicly traded cannabis companies. Prior to joining WTO, Cheng was an associate in the Denver office of an AmLaw 200 firm. She also served a judicial clerkship in the Colorado Supreme Court. 

Johan Flynn – Wheeler Trigg O’Donnell LLP

Flynn serves as national coordinating counsel and trial counsel to product manufacturers facing asbestos wrongful death litigation. During his career, he has implemented strategies to manage more than 30,000 individual asbestos matters. Brian Osterman – Wheeler Trigg O’Donnell LLP
Practice: commercial litigation, healthcare professional liability and personal injury defense

Osterman defends clients against medical malpractice lawsuits. He has won early dismissals and favorable settlements for dozens of healthcare providers and facilities facing allegations of negligence and eight-figure damages claims. Prior to joining WTO, Osterman was an associate at a healthcare defense boutique in New York City. 

Judith Youngman – Wheeler Trigg O’Donnell LLP

Youngman defends clients in high-stakes antitrust, class action and product liability litigation.
