Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck announced on June 13 that Michael Zehner rejoined the firm as a shareholder in the Denver office. Zehner will join the firm’s construction practice.

“Michael is a well-respected construction attorney and his background in the heavy civil construction industry gives him firsthand knowledge of many of the issues our clients face. We’re glad to have him back on the team here at Brownstein,” said Carrie Johnson, co-chair of Brownstein’s litigation department, in a press release.

Zehner focuses his interests within the construction law field. He grew up working for his father’s heavy civil construction company, eventually filling a project management position, where he participated in and directed work for large energy and infrastructure clients. Zehner’s work includes drafting agreements, motions, briefs, pleadings and contract drafting, review and management.

Zehner is the 2024 chair of the Colorado Contractors Association’s Associates Council and teaches a graduate course on legal aspects of construction at the University of Colorado’s College of Engineering & Applied Science in Boulder. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado Boulder and his law degree from the University of Colorado Law School.
