Local Firms Announce New Attorneys, Recognitions; 19th Judicial District To Host Inaugural Warrant Clearance Day

Polsinelli PC announced Oct. 9 the firm welcomed George Tsai to its Denver office as a shareholder in the employee benefits and executive compensation practice, where he will work closely with the firm’s corporate and private equity mergers and acquisitions practices. Tsai is an adviser in the practice area of employee benefits and executive compensation. He advises on broad-based plans as well as individualized arrangements. Tsai provides benefits diligence support, negotiates transactional benefits issues and advises on benefits transitions and integration. 


Womble Bond Dickinson announced Oct. 9 John Hawk has rejoined the firm as a partner in the business litigation group. Hawk has represented Fortune 500 companies for nearly two decades in complex commercial disputes. He defends banks, other lenders, mortgage servicers and life and disability insurers in state and federal courts. 

The Judiciary 

Colorado Judicial Department and partners are providing free legal assistance in 12 locations around the state during the week of Oct. 23. Volunteer lawyers and others will offer free informational and educational sessions at the events. Times and types of sessions vary by location. Spanish interpreters will be available and all sessions are free. Registration is required for some sessions. Instructions for each location can be found here.  

The 19th Judicial District will host its inaugural Warrant Clearance Day Oct. 14 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Weld County Combined Court Centennial Center. The court, Weld County Pretrial Services and Weld County District Attorney’s Office for the 19th Judicial District, among other groups, will come together to help people safely clear eligible warrants. Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie LLP announced Oct. 5 that seven of the firm’s Colorado-based lawyers have been named “Litigation Stars” in the 2024 edition of Benchmark Litigation. Ireland Stapleton Pryor & Pascoe, PC announced Oct. 9 regulatory attorney Sean Jennings has been elected to serve on the board of directors of the Energy Bar Association’s Rocky Mountain Chapter. The chapter covers the states of Colorado, New Mexico, Montana, Utah and Wyoming. In his role, Jennings will help the chapter develop programming and network-building opportunities for the Rocky Mountain Energy Bar community. In his practice, Jennings helps his clients navigate utility proceedings, renewable energy opportunities and more.

Merchant & Gould P.C., a national technology and trial law firm with a Denver office, announced Oct. 11 the firm has received the Mansfield Rule Plus Certification. Steptoe & Johnson PLLC announced Oct. 10 the firm has received Mansfield Rule 6.0 Certification by Diversity Lab in their effort to increase diversity in law firm leadership. This marks the second year the firm has been Mansfield Rule certified. 

Moye White LLP announced Oct. 10 the firm has received the Mansfield Rule Certification presented by Diversity Lab. According to the firm’s announcement, through expanding its talent pool to encompass women lawyers, LGBTQ+ lawyers, lawyers with disabilities and individuals from racial/ethnic minority backgrounds, law firms like Moye White have emerged as frontrunners in their pursuit of enhancing DEI initiatives. The National Trial Lawyers announced Joseph LoRusso of Ramos Law-Northglenn has been selected as an NTL – Civil Plaintiff – Top 40 Under 40 Trial Lawyer in Colorado. This is given to attorneys for their qualifications, trial results and leadership as young criminal defense and civil plaintiff lawyers.
