Wilson Elser announced on June 17 that it added former McElroy Deutsch managing partner Todd Jaworsky and former McElroy Deutsch partner Jane Young to the firm’s Denver office. The new team also includes two associates from McElroy Deutsch, according to the announcement. Jaworsky focuses on insurance-related and bad-faith litigation and drafting policy provisions and endorsements. Jaworsky received his J.D. from California Western School of Law in 2002, and a bachelor’s degree from Fort Lewis College in 1998. Young has 25 years of experience representing insurers and third-party administrators in complex coverage and bad-faith disputes around the country. Young was also a former managing partner of McElroy Deutsch’s Colorado office. Young received a J.D. from the University of Denver College of Law in 1998 and a bachelor’s degree from Ithaca College in 1995.

Coan, Payton & Payne, LLC announced on June 18 that attorney Richard Hess Jr. was elected to the Colorado Bar Association trust and estate section executive council. The section addresses the interests and problems of both specialists and general practitioners in the area of wills, trusts, estates, guardianships and conservatorships, according to the announcement. The firm noted Hess’s practice includes the subspecialties of estate planning, estate and gift tax planning, estate and trust administration, charitable/philanthropic planning (including charitable trusts and private foundations) and tax-exempt organizations.
The Squire Patton Boggs Foundation announced on June 20 that its inaugural Justice Jump Start Fellowship named Alison McMahon of the University of Colorado Law School in Boulder as a recipient of the foundation’s inaugural award. She will begin her public service work for the Colorado Office of the Attorney General.
