On July 17, Davis Graham & Stubbs announced that Alex Paalborg rejoined the firm as of counsel in the technology, transactions and intellectual property group. Paalborg advises clients on legal issues related to data privacy, technology, intellectual property and commercial transactions. His experience includes work with early-stage startups to Fortune 30 corporations. Prior to rejoining Davis Graham, Paalborg was counsel in the privacy and legal information security team at Comcast in Philadelphia. Paalborg is a certified information privacy professional for the U.S., credentialed by the International Association of Privacy Professionals. He earned his J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona.

Womble Bond Dickinson announced on July 18 that Jason Vick joined the firm’s Denver office as a partner in the patent prosecution and litigation practice. A registered patent attorney, Vick focuses his practice on domestic and foreign patent portfolio counseling for clients ranging from individual inventors and growing startups to Fortune 50 companies. After earning a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and law from Keele University, Vick graduated from the University of Notre Dame Law School with an LL.M. in international law.

The judiciary

Denver Clerk and Recorder Judge Paul López on July 12 appointed Sabrina Allie as deputy clerk and recorder. R. Todd Davidson has served as interim deputy since May and will now return to his position as director of elections. In previous roles, Allie was responsible for effectively communicating with 1.3 million Colorado Medicaid members, 90,000 Denver Public Schools students and their households, and 110,000 State of Colorado employees. She has a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communications from Point Park University and a master’s degree in political science from the University of Colorado Denver.

The Colorado Hispanic Bar Association announced on July 11 its 2024 En El Jardin winners. Steven Chavez of Rathod | Mohamedbhai received the Lifetime Achievement Award, Ruth Mackey of SRS Acquiom received the Chris Miranda Outstanding Hispanic Lawyer Award, 2nd Judicial District Judge Adam Espinosa received the Judicial Excellence Award, Zach Al-Tabbaa of Hall Estill received the Outstanding New Hispanic Lawyer Award, Annie Martinez of the Colorado Center on Law and Policy received the Individual Community Service Award and the Mi Casa Resource Center was awarded the Organizational Community Service Award.
