International law firm Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner announced Jan. 27 the addition of partner Tal Diamant to the firm’s commercial real estate practice in its Denver office. With more than 25 years of experience, Diamant focuses his practice on leasing, acquisition and disposition, development, real estate partnership formation and financing matters. He’s completed more than $1 billion in real estate transactions and negotiated more than 4 million square feet of commercial leases. Diamant has handled retail, office, industrial and multifamily projects.
Holland & Knight announced Jan. 28 that Stephen Baumann has joined the firm’s labor and employment and litigation practices as a partner in its Denver and Los Angeles offices. Baumann works with employers of all sizes to address and resolve employment and traditional labor issues throughout the employment life cycle, from hiring and performance management to corrective action and separation of employment. Baumann received his J.D. from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado Boulder. He is admitted to practice in Colorado and California.
Hall Booth Smith announced Jan. 29 that Kehinde Winful has joined the firm as an associate in its Denver office. Winful practices in a variety of areas, including business litigation, correctional health care, general liability, health care, intellectual property, labor and employment and medical malpractice. During law school, Winful gained experience as an intern in the criminal appeals section with the Colorado Office of the Attorney General. She also interned with the American Society of International Law and the Ghana Legal Resources Centre.
Davis Graham on Jan. 29 announced that Elizabeth Horton joined the firm as a senior associate in the trial group. She focuses her practice on litigating complex cases from the initial trial phase through appeals. Horton is admitted to practice in Colorado, Massachusetts and North Carolina. Horton covers a wide range of legal issues and has experience in both administrative and federal courts. Horton earned her J.D. from Boston College Law School, her master’s degree from the Paris School of International Affairs and her bachelor’s degree from Harvard College.
The judiciary
The 17th Judicial District Nominating Commission has nominated three candidates for a district court judgeship, effective on Dec. 31, 2024, created by the death of Judge Sharon Holbrook. Nominees Stephanie Perkins of Brighton, Sara Price of Denver and Toni Wehman of Westminster were selected by the commission on Jan. 24. Under the Colorado Constitution, the governor has 15 days to appoint one of the nominees as district court judge for the 17th Judicial District, serving Adams and Broomfield counties. Comments regarding any of the nominees may be emailed to the governor.
The Colorado Supreme Court scheduled a hearing on the proposed Colorado Rules of Family Procedure for May 13 at 3:30 p.m. Written public comments can be submitted by letter or email. Letters can be addressed to: Colorado Supreme Court, 2 E. 14th Avenue, Denver, CO 80202. If submitting a public comment by email, please attach your comment as a separate document to your email in Word or PDF format. The deadline to submit comments is April 25, 2025, by 4 p.m. Written comments received by the deadline will be uploaded after the comment period closes.

Coan, Payton & Payne announced on Jan. 24 that Michael Payne has been elected to the Board of Directors for the UCHealth Northern Colorado Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that utilizes donor and public grant funding to support research and education, patient financial assistance, community health programs and patient care.
