Sherman & Howard announced on Aug. 22 that corporate and transactional attorney Joanie Donahue joined the firm’s business and real estate practice group.
Donahue has assisted companies from New York to Colorado on various matters, including mergers and acquisitions and finance. She has experience drafting commercial agreements, disclosures and closing documents for M&A transactions.
“When working with companies, there is a high level of trust going into the partnership because they rely on you to help their business succeed,” Donahue said in a press release. “It’s important to have an in-depth understanding of the company you are working with and find strategic solutions that meet their needs.”
Donahue began her practice in financial services, counseling investment companies on federal and state regulations. Before joining Sherman & Howard, she worked as an associate at a Denver-based law firm, where she shifted her practice to include more transactional work.
“Joanie is a strong addition to our corporate team,” said Bill Peffer, the firm’s business and real estate practice group leader, in a press release. “With her experience navigating complex business matters, Joanie provides strategic insight that will continue to drive forward our firm’s success.”
“Sherman & Howard’s strong presence in Denver is impressive and reputable,” Donahue said. “I’m looking forward to working closely with the firm’s deep bench of skilled corporate attorneys and assisting companies in the local market, understanding the unique legal challenges and opportunities businesses face.”
Donahue received her J.D. from New York University School of Law and her bachelor’s degree in economics from Harvard University. While attending law school, she served as the executive editor for the NYU Journal of Legislation & Public Policy.
