Holland & Hart announced Oct. 7 that Jon Bender, a commercial and tax litigation partner, was appointed administrative partner of the firm’s Denver office. He succeeds corporate partner Susan Oakes.

Bender is a longstanding member of the firm’s diversity and inclusion committee, a member of its recruitment committee and a mentor and supervisor of associates and summer clerks.

In Bender’s business litigation practice, he advises clients in a variety of industries, including ski resorts, mining, real estate development, oil and gas, healthcare, hospitality, entertainment and financial services. Bender has experience litigating breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, negligence and fraud-based claims.

In Bender’s state and local tax practice, he regularly represents clients in sales, use and property tax matters.

Oakes has served as the firm’s Denver administrative partner since 2020. She managed the health and safety and work arrangement challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and the shift to hybrid work.
