Polsinelli announced Sept. 26 that Harsha Sekar had joined the firm as a shareholder in its capital markets and commercial lending practice. Sekar’s focus is the private credit industry, and he has experience advising investment funds, family offices and other types of lenders and borrowers in private credit transactions, fund formations and fund financings.

Sekar works with a wide variety of private credit funds and their managers, including multiple bespoke funds that focus on the investment of public assets in debt securities and other types of credit obligations. He also represents investment banks and issuers in connection with high-yield debt securities issuances in the public finance space. Sekar is the fifth new shareholder Polsinelli has added in Denver in the past year.

“We are thrilled to welcome Harsha to Polsinelli. His focus on advising clients in sophisticated financings and his track record representing both credit funds and investment banks make him an excellent addition to our nationwide team,” Jessica Zaiger, co-chair of the firm’s capital markets and commercial lending practice, said in a news release. “Harsha’s experience and relationships align with our commitment to providing top-tier service and innovative solutions to our clients. Our nationally recognized public finance team is looking forward to integrating and supporting his many existing relationships, and our growing private credit team is excited to partner with him in this high-priority area for the firm.”

“I am excited to welcome Harsha to our Denver office. His arrival underscores our ongoing growth in the Denver market and our efforts,” Jennifer Evans, office managing partner of the firm’s Denver office, said in a news release. “Harsha has been deeply involved in the Denver and wider Colorado community, and we could not be more excited to have him join us.”

Since 2020, Sekar has played a leading role in counseling on the formation and capitalization of a Colorado small business loan fund, which has extended several million dollars in credit to borrowers across the state.

“I am thrilled to join a firm as respected and dynamic as Polsinelli,” Sekar said. “I look forward to helping Polsinelli build a nationally leading private credit practice while also integrating my clients and contacts into our robust public finance group. Polsinelli’s unparalleled commitment to entrepreneurship and growth closely align with my own ambitions, and the firm’s platform is truly an ideal fit for me and for my clients.”

Sekar also serves as counsel for the Centennial State Liquid Investment Pool, one of Colorado’s four local government investment pool trust funds. He received his J.D. from Tulane University and his bachelor’s degree from Grinnell College.
