Gov. Polis Appoints Meegan Miloud to the 1st Judicial District Court

Gov. Jared Polis appointed Magistrate Meegan Miloud to the 1st Judicial District Court. The vacancy was created by the retirement of Judge Laura Tighe, effective March 1. 

Miloud is a district court magistrate in the 1st Judicial District, a position she’s held since 2020. Her docket consists of probate, mental health, domestic relations and juvenile matters. 


According to the announcement, she was previously the owner of Miloud Law Firm, LLC, from 2011 to 2021, an assistant criminal district attorney in the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office in Fort Worth, Texas from 2006 to 2008, an assistant DA in the Laramie County District Attorney’s Office in Cheyenne, Wyoming from 2004 to 2006, a real estate legal assistant at Finkel and Altman, LLC in 2004 and a legal assistant at Davidson, Bennett, & Wigger, INC from 2002 to 2003. 

Miloud earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1999 and her J.D. from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law in 2001.
