Snell & Wilmer announced Tuesday that former federal prosecutor Aloke Chakravarty joined the firm’s white collar defense and investigations group and cybersecurity, data protection and privacy practice in Denver.
Chakravarty spent more than 20 years as a public-sector attorney and prosecuted U.S. v. Tsarnaev in the wake of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing. His role in the case included leading the crisis response and investigation team in the bombing’s immediate aftermath.
“At a time when government enforcement matters and cybersecurity are in the headlines almost daily, Al’s extraordinary background and experience make him an invaluable resource for clients and a welcome addition to our firm,” said Curt Reimann, managing partner of Snell & Wilmer’s Denver office, in a news release.
For his work at the Department of Justice, Chakravarty received the Attorney General’s Awards for Exceptional Service in 2016 and Distinguished Service in 2010. Chakravarty has also served as assistant general counsel at the FBI, for which he received the Director’s Award in 2016, and assistant attorney general in the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office.

Spencer Fane announced Katherine Whitney joined the firm’s real estate practice group in the firm’s Denver office as an associate.
Whitney focuses her work on assisting clients with regulatory compliance and commercial real estate. Her experience includes commercial finance for real estate acquisition and development. She also offers counsel and represents firearms manufacturers and retailers in efforts to comply with the National Firearms Act, Gun Control Act of 1968 and other regulations.
Whitney prepared for her legal career with a background in commercial lending, specializing in underwriting as a credit analyst. She has published articles on a variety of topics in addition to establishing her practice. She completed her undergraduate education at Western State College of Colorado before earning her law degree from the University of Colorado Law School.
Fisher Phillips announced today that Micah Dawson joined the national labor and employment law firm’s Denver office as an associate. He was previously with Holland & Hart in Denver.
Dawson advises employers on how to comply with a range of state and federal regulations and develop the best corporate practices. He has experience representing clients in regard to employment litigation, trade secret matters, and wage-and-hour class actions and collective actions.
Dawson is also involved in all aspects of traditional labor law, including practicing before the National Labor Relations Board, union avoidance and elections, defense of unfair labor practice charges, collective bargaining negotiations, and labor arbitrations.
Dawson has represented national and international employers in state and federal courts across the country and successfully tried cases in both jury and bench proceedings. He also represents veterans on a pro bono basis and has successfully appealed claims before the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims and the Federal Circuit.
Dawson received his law degree from Boston College Law School. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Chicago in 2007.
Moye White announced Thursday that the firm has added attorney Jessica Hunter as part of its expansion of its business section.
Hunter provides counsel to clients on corporate formation and deal structuring, regulatory compliance, intellectual property protection and portfolio management, corporate governance and corporate law. As part of her practice, she also focuses her efforts in the alcoholic beverage industry, including working with brewing, distilling and restaurant/retail clients.
Before joining Moye White, Hunter worked at Messner Reeves, where she represented companies and individuals in various industries and business life cycles. Additionally, she worked at the Brewers Association as a government affairs legal intern where she developed resources related to various laws and regulations that brewers face on a daily basis.
Hunter received her law degree from the University of Colorado Law School. She also received an MBA and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Denver, Daniels College of Business.
Board Appointments
Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck associate Reid Galbraith was elected to the Food Bank of the Rockies’ board of directors on March 27.
Galbraith has a background in real estate transactions and political consulting to the board. His term began immediately, and he will aid the organization largely in its fundraising efforts, among other duties.
Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck associate Hannah Caplan was appointed to the Rose Andom Center Young Professionals Council.
The Young Professionals Council is intended to be a space for diverse young professionals to support the Rose Andom Center and its partner agencies through education, volunteer programs and fundraising to combat domestic violence and its effects. Caplan will work with and support the organization’s board of directors as a member of the membership committee by working to recruit, onboard and manage new members.
