U.S. Attorney Adds Assistant USAs

Federal prosecutor’s office adds four

Outgoing U.S. Attorney Jason Dunn announced the following individuals have recently joined the office as assistant U.S. attorneys:

Melissa Hindman came to the office after serving as an assistant district attorney in the New York County District Attorney’s Office. Prior to her time there, she was a legal intern for the U.S. Department of Justice National Security Division. Hindman received a law degree from Northwestern University School of Law, and she has been assigned to the office’s criminal division.


Laura Cramer-Babycz joined the office after serving as a deputy district attorney in the Denver District Attorney’s Office. 

Prior to that, she was in private practice at a law firm in Denver. Cramer-Babycz has also clerked for Judge Carol Bagley Amon in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York and Judge Reena Raggi of 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals. Cramer-Babycz received a law degree from Harvard Law School, and she has been assigned to the office’s criminal division.

Jennifer Lake joined the office after serving in private practice. Prior to that, she was a law clerk to Judge Robert Scola, Jr. in the U.S. District Court of the Southern District of Florida. Lake received a law degree from Harvard Law School, and she has been assigned to the office’s civil division.

Andrew Soler previously served in private practice in New York City. Prior to that, he was a law clerk to Judge Haywood Gilliam in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. He received a law degree from Cornell Law School. He has been assigned to the office’s civil division.

Redistricting Commissioners 

The first six members of the Colorado Independent Legislative Redistricting Commission were selected Feb. 12:

Gary Horvath, a Democrat and resident of Broomfield, in the 2nd Congressional District

Robin Schepper, a Democrat and resident of Steamboat Springs, in the 3rd Congressional District

John Barnett, a Republican and resident of Denver, in the 1st Congressional District

John Buckley, III, a Repbulican and resident of Colorado Springs, in the 5th Congressional District

Kevin Fletcher, unaffiliated and a resident of Golden, in the 7th Congressional District

Samuel Greenidge, unaffiliated and a resident of Longmont, in the 4th Congressional District. 

The first six members of the Colorado Independent Congressional Redistricting Commissioners are:

Jolie Brawner, unaffiliated from Congressional District 1

Paula Espinoza, Democrat from Congressoinal District 4

William Leone, Republican from Congressional District 7

Danny Moore, Republican from Congressional District 6

Lori Smith Schell, Unaffiliated from  Congressional District 3

Elizabeth Wilkes, Democrat from Congressional District 5

The remaining commissioners for the legislative commission will be selected by March 16 and for the congressional comission by March 1.
