Shady Dealings Within Deutsche Bank
Anti-money-laundering specialists at Deutsche Bank recommended in 2016 and 2017 that multiple transactions involving legal entities controlled by Donald Trump and Jared Kushner be reported to a federal financial-crimes watchdog. Executives at the bank rejected their employees’ advice, though.
Supreme Court Rules in Favor of Native American Rights
U.S. Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch provided a deciding vote in pushing the court in favor of Native American rights. The court held that hunting rights for the Crow tribe under a 19th century treaty did not expire when Wyoming became a state.
The American Bar Association’s legal education body approved a proposal to set a new bar-pass accreditation standard for law schools requiring 75 percent of graduating students pass the bar exam within two years.
