A Senate committee last night advanced a pay equity bill that defines justifications for pay differences between men and women and prohibits employers from asking job applicants about their pay history.
In Re Marriage of Rooks
Former Colorado resident Mandy Rooks is petitioning the U.S. Supreme Court to consider her case, In re Marriage of Rooks, which dealt with parental rights over cryopreserved embryos. The U.S. Supreme Court is being asked to consider whether the embryos are human persons entitled to human rights, though the state appellate courts didn’t consider that issue.
