Gov. John Hickenlooper on Wedesday appointed John Scipione as judge on the Arapahoe County Court in the 18th Judicial District. He will fill a vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Robert Tobias.
Scipione serves as a magistrate in the 18th Judicial District and currently handles a felony intake docket in Arapahoe County. In his current position, Scipione presides over first appearances, felony advisements, bond hearings and preliminary hearings for all felony cases.
Prior to his current position, he worked for Taussig Scipione & Taussig, for Riggs Abney Neal Turpen Orbison & Lewis, Herrold & Herrold, Law Cash/Esquire Capital and for Caplis Scipione & Deasy. Scipione earned his undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Binghamton and his law degree from the University of Colorado.
Scipione’s appointment is effective May 31.
