In its first major get-together after the New Year, Colorado’s largest in-house counsel group got caught up on technology while catching up with each other.
The Colorado chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel kicked off 2017 with a technology primer for in-house lawyers as well as a chance to mingle. Held at the History Colorado Center Jan. 19, the event opened with a “Technology 101” CLE presented by panelists from the Corporation Service Company, which provides registered agent and compliance services.
In-house attendees also had an opportunity to meet with the members from several sponsoring outside counsel firms: Fisher Phillips, Hall Render, Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton, Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie and Shook Hardy & Bacon.
As companies’ business operations become more deeply intertwined with cloud computing, data analytics and the Internet of Things, their legal departments have had to get their arms around those concepts in order to analyze the risks and benefits of new information technology.
