Holland & Knight continued its expansion in the Denver office with two more laterals. The firm announced April 11 that David Fine and Seth Belzley have joined the office. The two represent the third and fourth lateral moves for the office in 2016, following former AngloGold Ashanti Americas general counsel Wayne Chancellor and labor and employment attorney Colin Barnacle.

The two moves signal plans for aggressive growth in Denver for the international law firm. The firm opened its Denver office in July with plans of becoming one of the area’s major players. Fine and Belzley cited the firm’s culture and robust business practice area for their own transition to the firm.

“The best days of the firm are ahead, particularly in Denver,” Belzley said.

Fine is transitioning to the firm from the Denver office Dentons, where he was managing partner since its acquisition of McKenna Long & Aldridge. Prior to that, he was managing partner at McKenna Long & Aldridge. He said he will continue in a management role at the firm, but his work will now also focus on business development as well as the practice of law. One of the reasons Holland & Knight brought him to the firm was to help integrate the Denver office into the business and legal communities, he said.
