Faegre Baker Daniels announced April 25 the addition of Scott Bialecki and Mark Yaskanin as partners in the firm’s intellectual property practice in Denver. The partners join FaegreBD from Fox Rothschild and bring more than 40 years of combined experience in intellectual property law.
“Scott and Mark bring a wealth of relevant experience to our expanding team and clients in Denver,” said Cal Litsey, partner and intellectual property practice leader at Faegre Baker Daniels. “Scott’s IP expertise within food and agriculture, health and life sciences and energy will bolster our offerings to clients in those industries. Mark brings unique, unrivaled experience to IP as an engineer and geologist.”
In addition to intellectual property litigation, Bialecki frequently provides outside general counsel services, leveraging the firm’s depth to assist clients with an array of legal services in corporate, antitrust, government contract, employment and real estate matters. Bialecki is also a former regulator with the Federal Trade Commission and has several years’ experience conducting business in Asia. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia and a law degree from the Widener University School of Law.
Yaskanin is a registered patent attorney who brings experience as a licensed professional engineer and certified professional geologist to helping innovative clients through challenges in protecting intellectual property. His work encompasses patents, including U.S. and foreign patent procurement, non-infringement and invalidity opinions, patent litigation support and strategy development and transactional due diligence. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Michigan State University and a law degree from the University of Denver College of Law.
