Three Denver attorneys — a private litigator, public defender and a prosecutor — are up for a spot on the bench in Colorado’s 2nd Judicial District after the nominating commission narrowed the pool of candidates May 4.
The district court judgeship was created by the resignation of Judge Herbert Stern III, effective June 1, 2015. Nominees include Greenberg Traurig shareholder David Goldberg, a litigation attorney and Greenberg Traurig shareholder; Jay Grant, deputy state public defender; and Christine Washburn, a deputy prosecutor in the Denvers District Attorney’s office.
Gov. John Hickenlooper has 15 days under state law from today to make a selection. Comments regarding the nominees can be submitted to the governor’s office by email at [email protected]
