Shannon Stevenson’s trial strategy involves finding the story behind a case.
The Davis Graham & Stubbs partner has shown her excellence in the past year inside and outside the courtroom with significant trial wins — on offense and defense — and by earning her spot on the Colorado Supreme Court Nominating Commission.
Last year was a big year for her. As a plaintiff’s attorney, she and fellow DG&S partner Kenzo Kawanabe took a “David and Goliath” case to trial and got a major verdict on behalf of their clients. Stevenson received a nomination as a Top Litigator on behalf of the Colorado Women’s Bar Association, and she said she was flooded with congratulatory emails from members of the CWBA after the trial’s result.
The plaintiff in the case was SOLIDFX, a husband and wife business team who were able to get in front of the rise of the tablet computer. The couple were pilots who were also experienced in the tech industry, and approximately in 2008, they saw the potential to transfer the bulky paper aviation charts they used to digital versions that could be used on e-readers. They worked with prototypes of the now-ubiquitous devices and developed their own apps they could take to the air.
