On Thursday night, roughly 700 members of Denver’s legal community came together to celebrate some of the most accomplished graduates of the city’s own law school.
Each year the University of Denver Sturm College of Law presents its “DU Law Stars,” with awards recognizing excellence in categories ranging from legal education to professionalism. This year the law school named five honorees in a gala held at the Marriott City Center in downtown Denver.
Cassie Boggs, general counsel at Resource Capital Funds, received the Thompson G. Marsh Award.
The Thompson G. Marsh Award, which DU doesn’t present every year, recognizes a law school graduate for outstanding accomplishments. Boggs is one among its eight recipients since 1997. The William L. Keating Outstanding Alumni Award went to John Sadwith, longtime executive director of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association. Sadwith is retiring from the CTLA helm after 32 years where he was the face of the local plaintiffs’ bar’s lobbying and philanthropic efforts.
