Coan Payton & Payne announced today that Ryan Heatherman has joined the firm.
Heatherman’s practice focuses on business and banking litigation, business transactions and corporate contracts, business formation, mergers and acquisitions, corporate and regulatory compliance, all areas of real estate, oil and gas related issues, insurance coverage, creditors’ rights, judicial foreclosures, employment issues, estate and probate
administration, family law, and military law. Heatherman is admitted to practice before all courts in Colorado, Oklahoma, and the Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces.
Heatherman received his Bachelor’s of Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma. He then received his law degree from the University of Tulsa College of Law.
He started his career as an Officer in the United States Marine Corps, where he prosecuted courts-martial and later deployed to Afghanistan with an infantry battalion.
After the Marine Corps, Heatherman served as the general counsel of an oil and gas company for two years, before enrolling at the University of Notre Dame, where he received a Master’s of Business Administration.
Before joining CP2, Mr. Heatherman moved to Fort Collins with his wife and children and founded a litigation law firm. He continues to serve as a Major in the United States Marine Corps Reserves and is on the Executive Board of Colorado Lawyers for Colorado Veterans.
