Gov. John Hickenlooper today announced Dondi Osborne’s appointment as a judge on the La Plata County Court in the 6th Judicial District. Osborne will fill a vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Martha Minot.
Osborne currently serves as an assistant U.S. Attorney for the Department of Justice in Durango, and has held this position since January 2008. She prosecutes a variety of criminal cases including murder, sexual assault, domestic violence, theft, tax violations, and others. Prior to this position, Osborne served as a deputy and assistant district attorney for the 6th Judicial District Attorney’s Office. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Fort Lewis College in 1991 and her law degree from Creighton University in 1996.
Osborne’s appointment is effective Aug. 29, 2017.
