As both the firm commercial litigation chair for Polsinelli as well as a practicing litigator with her own clients and cases, Stacy Carpenter is doing double-time for the 20-office national firm.
The litigator has seen a red-letter year in the courtroom while also serving an education and leadership role among other lawyers in the firm. Although being a leader in the firm is time consuming enough, she also handled more than 40 litigation matters in the past year as well. The role of group chair has her organizing the work of more than 100 attorneys throughout the firm and visiting about 17 of the firm’s 20 offices at least once a year.
And in her work with the firm’s other attorneys, much of what she does involves putting them first. The job of a practice group chair is largely to make others successful, she said.
That effort to promote the work of others also extends into the courtroom, where Carpenter makes sure that her second-chair attorneys get a chance to question at least one witness.
