Gaining the trust of the courtroom’s jury and judge can sometimes be a challenging task for even for the most experienced litigators. For Brandee Caswell, it’s all about honesty, control and credibility.
“If you want to have a powerful courtroom presence, you have to have credibility,” she said. “And if that means correcting yourself because you misstated something, you just have to do it because if you want to be trusted, you have to earn it.”
The Faegre Baker Daniels partner and Colorado native attended law school at the University of Kansas and clerked for a Kansas Supreme Court justice before returning to her home state to practice law. She worked for a few Denver law firms before practicing at Faegre Baker Daniels — a firm she has been with for the past 12 years.
Now head of the firm’s real estate practice, the litigator has been making waves in the courtroom as an first-chair trial attorney who has successfully litigated cases in state and federal court, including large out-of-state cases.
